    Chapter Honors Competition Winners

McKenzie competed with 32 other pianists at the South King County Chapter Honors Competition, and is 2nd Ranked Alternate Winner! She played Haydn's Sonata in F major Hob. XVI:23 I. Allegro Moderato.
The top 10 were recognized in the Fine Arts recital, and the top 2 winners get to play for the WSMTA state convention. She also got 3rd place in her school's talent show with Debussy's 1st Arabesque. What a great way to remember her last semester in high school!  Congrats to all the winners!

Winning at WMEA Eastshore Solo and Ensemble

McKenzie and her vocal duet partner Hannah won in their category at the WMEA Eastshore Region's Solo & Ensemble, which means they qualify for State! McKenzie also received a 1+ rating on her piano solos that same day.
Since Hannah and McKenzie are also in the school musical production, they are keeping their fingers crossed that they'll be able to go to State and make it back in time for opening night!
Special thanks to Mari their wonderful accompanist!

    I Love My Students!

These lovely students did a great job at recital. So proud of them!

Doin' the Puyallup at the WA ST Fair!

I do keys, vocals and tambourine for The Truman Doctrine band. We got the wonderful opp to perform at the WA State Fair's Education Stage, and had so much fun! I also performed a 1 hour solo piano set beforehand.
Special thanks to Scott Anderson for the use of his cajon, Linda Worthy for the booking, the wonderful Fair staff, and to our friends and family who came out to support us.
It was surreal to have a random person at school come up to me and say "hey I saw you perform with the Truman Doctrine at The Fair".

    My Students at Recital

My piano studio held a student recital at Lord of Life Lutheran Church last month. These lovely ladies not only played beautifully, but looked beautiful as well! So proud of all my students!

University of the Pacific Merit Scholarship Recipient

McKenzie submitted 2 audition videos of contrasting styles for the UofP Senior Piano Camp scholarship/admittance consideration, and was awarded a merit scholarship! She is looking forward to meeting people from other states and countries, as well as growing as a pianist.

    Update 6/19:
One of her camp dates were switched which is good news and bad news: good news is that she'll be able to play for Renton River Days after all, but bad news is that she won't be able to go on the missions trip.
